E-COMMERCE WIZARD TUTORIAL

Implementing: Order Management

Orders

When an order is placed, the system creates an order ticket and automatically assigns it a corresponding ID. Then, the system allocates this order ticket to its proper section according to the payment method selected by the user --whether that may be Credit Card, PayPal, Check or Money Order. Clicking on any of the Order Management links will show its corresponding order tickets. In turn, these tickets may be modified or deleted. (See Modifying Orders below.)

View All Orders: Displays the entire order history of your online store. This includes shipped and unprocessed orders in chronological order
View CC Orders: Shows all Credit Card orders
View Other Orders: Shows orders via PayPal, Check or MOD (Money Order)
View Shipped Orders: Shows history of all shipped orders

Order Placement Testing

Once your shopping cart is constructed it is a good idea to make sure it is working right. To do this place test orders and check View All Orders to verify. Click below for detailed step-by-step instructions.

 Order Testing and Processing

Order Ticket

Each order ticket has five parts which display all relevant information necessary for processing the product. Make sure all of these are complete before processing the order. The Shipping field is the exception since the customer may use the addressing information in the Billing section.

1. Header: Order ID, Order Date, Total, Change Total
2. Billing: Name, Address, E-mail, Phone, Card Owner,
Card Type, Card Number, Expiration Date
3. Shipping: Name, Address, E-mail, Phone (Shows only if user did not check Mail To)
4. Details: ID, Name, Quantity, Info, Remove
5. Footer: Ship, Delete

Modifying Orders

Text here.

a. Change Total
b. Remove
c. Ship Order
d. Delete Order

a. Change Total
1. Total: Changes cost of item after taxes.
2. Shipping: Changes cost of sending the product. (Does not show in total figure since the shipping cost remains constant.)

b. Remove
Use to discard products from order tickets. Once the button is pushed there will not be any further warnings to proceed. The following message will show when all the products of an order are removed: No products - ERROR ERROR ERROR

NOTE: Once an order has been placed, products can be removed from it --such as when the customer double clicked the order instead of once-- but products can NOT be added to the order. To purchase more items, the customer will have to place another order.

c. Ship Order
1. Ship Date: Enter scheduled mailing date
2. Tracking: Code from shipping company (UPS, PayPal, etc.)
3. Press Submit to make changes
4. Pressing Reset clears data entered in Ship Date and Tracking

d. Delete Order
Use to delete order ticket entirely. A warning window will pop up to verify deletion.
